Outdoor blood tracking training: all hunting dog breeds
Tracking shot or injured game -mostly European roe deer and wild boars- is one of the most applied hunting task of a Dachshund in Europe for centuries. Many other hunting dogs are used for this purpose too. In this country blood tracking with dogs is becoming more important as part of ethical hunting, in particular among bowhunters. As most tracking dog handlers inevitably experience, the preparation and training of the handler/dog team is crucial for the actual performance.
Training includes:
1) Designing and laying out the blood trail for training, with and without tracking shoes
2) Problem solving stations with frequently experienced problems during natural searches
